Who we are

BunaAroma Coffee Exporter – is a green coffee exporting company based on Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The company name BunAroma is combined from three significant words, ‘Buna’, ‘Aroma’ and ‘Bunaro’. The word “Buna” is translated as ‘Coffee’ in Amharic language, the word ‘Aroma’ is one of the primary coffee qualities denoting the smell and a coffee’s flavor and ‘Bunaro’ is the founder’s last name . BunAroma reflects a genuine culture of Ethiopian coffee towards the rich Aroma that Ethiopian Arabica coffee from the birthplace and its origin has to offer to the world . The company was founded in 2016. Since the establishment, BunAroma coffee has produced and exported both specially prepared traceable and commercial coffee beans directly to the global green coffee buyers and roasters worldwide.

Managing Director of BunAroma coffee Exporter, Mr. Abel Ayele, Who possesses an extensive experience in the coffee farming, production, processing and exporting operations. He has worked initially as the Export & Marketing Manager of Damota Wolayta farmers’ Cooperative union Ltd. Later on, worked as an export manager for a leading green coffee producer and exporter company in Ethiopia. Mr. Abel’s combined vast experience has brought coffee export operations management, supply chain development, trained coffee cupping, grading, green coffee quality inspection and over 10 years of sales and marketing in the coffee sector for the private export company and a farmer cooperative union as well.

SUPPLY CHAIN

Our primary goal is to supply the specially prepared higher quality traceable and commercial coffee bean to our clients. The company has its own drying & hulling stations for the sourcing of sun-dried natural coffee bean in Wolayta Sodo located about 330 km from South West of Addis Ababa, and 160 km from Hawassa, the Sidama regional capital. This project has created an opportunity to work directly with the smallholder coffee-producing farmers and suppliers so as to be benefited from the company’s export revenues since the company has corporate social responsibility operations in the region. The investment also has created a job for the youths to work in our facility for the betterment of their livelihood, particularly for women in the area.

Since its establishment, our company has been advancing a direct supply-chain partnership with several coffee producers and suppliers who are owning coffee washing and drying stations. We have made a partnership agreement with the potential coffee producers by vertical integration sourcing methods in several coffee growing areas such as Sidama, Yirgacheffee, Guji, Shakiso, Uraga, West Arsi, Jimma, Limmu, Keffa, and Benchi Maji regions of Ethiopia. The company has built itself on pillars of quality green coffee export, honesty, integrity and reliability. Our team is composed of highly qualified people with accumulated experience of more than 15 years in the coffee industry. These have been instrumental in ensuring our business partners’ satisfaction.

Our Dream: As part of its expansion program, the company is also planning to engage in farming and working on the project to acquire a land for massive plantations of coffee for sustainable sourcing and supply for the potential clients worldwide.

Our Target : Green coffee exports from Ethiopia has seen a growing demand from major importing countries such as USA, Europe, Japan, Korea and others. Through the recent meetings with our potential customers in the International coffee trade fairs & conferences, keen interest was observed from roasting and importing companies. Bunaroma targets to sustain the established business connections and partnerships with the potential coffee importers and roasters worldwide.
